Administration of Estates

Managing the settlement of the estates of intestate persons. Matters related to the administration of estates are regulated under the Administration of Estates Law (Cap.189), the Probates (Re-Sealing) Law (Cap.192) and the Wills and Successions Law (Cap.195).

Constitutional and Administrative Law

As in many other areas of law Constitutional law in the Republic of Cyprus has its roots in the English legal system. Effectively, the principles of common law and equity apply notwithstanding the influence of non-common law jurisdictions as regards administrative law. The predominant text is the Constitution of the Republic of Cyprus as well as laws retained by virtue of Article 188 of the Constitution. By virtue of the Law relating to the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution, Law 127 (I)/2006 a new Article 1(A) was added to the Constitution which provides for the supremacy of European Union Law over the Constitution and National laws.
